If you're considering this printer, ignore the huge markdowns on generic toner — Brother's own TN-247 cartridges yield far better color consistency. Yes, they cost more, but on a $15,000 client job, saving $50 on toner is penny-wise and pound-foolish.

Final Thought: Pay for Certainty When You're Against the Clock

In March 2024, we paid $400 extra for rush delivery of a replacement fuser unit for the same printer. The alternative was missing a $15,000 event. It wasn't a hard decision.

That's the time certainty premium I now build into our budgets. The cost of a guarantee is always lower than the cost of a failure.
